Wild Embers by Nikita Gill

Ok so I’m gonna start out by mentioning that I read Wild Embers at the end of last year, and I FREAKING LOVED IT!!! I’ve only ever read a couple of other poetry books (the more popular ones), but Wild Embers is BY FAR my favorite poetry book of all time as of right now. It was an easy 5/5 stars.

SO, some quick reasons why I loved this book.

First of all, the cover is GORGEOUS!!!! I found out about this book through some friends on bookstagram who recommended it, and I wanted it because of the cover and their description of the book.

Next, THE BOOK! This poetry book didn’t follow the ‘popular’ style that a lot of poetry books are currently formatted in, and I loved it. The layout was simple and elegant, and just perfect.

And let’s not forget about THE POEMS! I loved the poems so much, and I literally almost cried because of a few of them. My favorites were the fairytale retellings, the mythology retellings, and a poem about Venus (my favorite planet). The entire book will forever be stuck in mind, and I am not unpleased at all by it.

Here’s the summary of Wild Embers so you guys get a bit more of what it’s about:

Nikita Gill’s poetry has captured hearts and minds all over the world; her inspirational words have been shared hundreds of thousands of times online, been plastered across placards on international women’s marches and even transformed into tattoos. This collection will showcase mostly unseen poetry and prose, delving into ideas about passion, identity, empowerment, and femininity.

Ok but guys, you seriously need to read Wild Embers NOW!!! It’s so amazing, and you’ll love it (I hope), and it’s a great poetry book to start with if you’re looking to start reading poetry. It’s also pretty short (only 147 pages), so it makes for a pretty quick read! Easily 5/5 stars from me.
